Massey Great Hall,

The evening unfolds in three circles

From 7:00pm, arrive at your own pace for an open, self-guided installation in the Great Hall. Wander through a collection of local and international installations and performances, taking time to explore the space before gathering at 7:30pm.

At 7:30pm, the space transforms for Canadian composer Gordon Monahan’s Speaker Swinging, as performers set speakers into motion, sending sound and circles of light through the Great Hall.

Then, at approximately 8:00pm, the audience gathers in the round for a seated concert of chamber music, bringing together works by composers from Aotearoa and beyond, including a short new work by Eve de Castro-Robinson.

From open exploration, through sound and movement, to a concert in the round, the evening moves between different ways of listening, experiencing and inhabiting the space.
